Where to wash one’s laundry with a view on fario trouts and trichopters

Nowadays, nobody farms crayfishes or washes laundry there anymore, but the Krebsbachtal has become a protected area for natural species, right next to urban areas. The wanderer who takes the time to visit the nature trail will get interesting information on the panels, which explain what plant and animal species live in this biotope. The very cold and pure Krebsbach waters attract numerous fishes and water insects. The fario trout, very sensitive to water quality, has settled there. This trout is part of the salmonides family and hunts at night, mainly for trichopters. The larvae of this insect live on the bed of the river. When the weather warms up, the larvae hatch and reach up to the surface at the pupal stage. Once adult, the insect then deploys its wings and can be found in great numbers on stones and plants in proximity of the water.
